Spring Break

We had such a fun spring break! Every day I tried to have one special activity planned.

Friday:

Our wonderful friendsvisited right after school to jump start the break. The kids play really well together and this is a picture of one of their favorite games, zombies.
Saturday:
We saw Rango at the theater. The boys had such a great time and loved that their Aunt Jen could join us.

Monday: Lunch with Daddy at a fun restaurant downtown Frisco.

Tuesday:
I had a play date lined up with a friend from school but when the kids found out that our neighbors got a dog, they begged to go over and meet Hickory. Thank you, Janie for letting us come over on such short notice! They talked about it the rest of the week...and beyond.
Later that day, they were outside "deflowering" the trees. Whatever.

Wednesday:

We went to Rockwall to visit with some great friends.

Thursday:
We had movie day and watched and made crafts around the house (aka..mom was tired from the previous day).

Friday:

Jason had a special evening planned for the boys. They did telescopes and had fun playing in the van with me and Charly while waiting for their turn.

Saturday:
Was the pinewood derby!
Ryan's first scout activity was the pinewood derby. It was a blast! All the cars were so cute and he had so much fun.
Ryan's car turned out so cute. Jason went a little nuts with the car and hand sculpted SpongeBob. He did a great job but didn't sleep a for a few nights getting it done.

Saturday also brought 2 things, one very sad and one happy. When we came home from the pinewood derby, our phones were ringing. Jason's family was calling to let us know that his Grandmother had passed away. The funeral is today and although we couldn't make it to Oakland, we're remembering the life of a wonderful woman and great example. The happy news is that Charlotte started walking that day as well. She's taking as many as 16 steps on her own before falling down.
I had 2 weeks without much homework so this is the first year that I had a spring break too. It was so much fun and I loved spending play time with my cute kids.
